Can teething cause tongue thrush in babies? I am extremely hygienic if it comes to my baby's pacifiers, bottles and toys but he still contracted tongue thrush could this be due to teething or should I keep the possibility of a Allergy in mind, thanks
I have a vaginal yeast infection and now I have small circular bumps on my tongue, is this thrush? Other then thrush is there any other reason why a babies tongue might be white? i seem to have some kind of bacteria on the back of tongue, is it oral thrush? Well i know oral thrush is caused by the bacteria Candida Albicans but could it be some other kind of bacteria because it doesnt look like thrush. It looks like white nodules on the back of the tongue and they eventually become thick and look like a white paste.

It looks just like geographic tongue but I was told it was thrush. Why do I have white coating (oral thrush) on my tongue again? I had a bad throat infection a couple of weeks ago and was treated with clindamycin. Now I was using probiotic yogurt drinks but did not drink any for a few days and now I have this white coating on my tongue again. This same coating appeared when my infection went away but now it is back? What does this mean? Should I consume more probiotics? Could it be some underlying condition? I don't think it's HIV because I've never had sex or used needles. Thanks

Has anyone heard of wiping a baby's tongue with his diaper so the urine can get rid or prevent thrush? My grandmother came to visit me today and she noticed my son's tongue was white (from the formula) and she told me when he pees to wipe his tongue with his diaper. I have had oral thrush (tongue) and tried loads of different things for it but wont clear up!? I have had thrush on the back of my tongue for over a month now. I went to my pharmacy and they gave me some daktarin gel, which did not work. I have also had some fungil lozengers from my gp but they also have not cleared it. also tried mouth wash and a spray for my tongue but none worked. It also hurts to swallow food and feel like i am choking when i eat. I have also had constipation (not sure if it is linked) I have recently (about 2 weeks) been feeling very tired all day and needing sleep throughout the day. People have also commented on how regularly i am getting a cold. Any ideas of what could be wrong. And has anyone else had these symptoms?
Can thrush only be on the tongue? I was looking at my daughters tongue and she has a lot of white patches on it. There aren't any more anywhere else in her mouth, just her tongue. I was reading online that its normally not just on the tongue, but when I wipe hers, it doesn't wipe off. Burnt tongue or thrush? I've had thrush before, but this really isnt like that last time. It feels like I burned my tongue, but don't remember doing so. I have some white patches on the sides of my tongue, but unlike what people have said (or like last time), there is no redness or bleeding at all when I brush my teeth or anything. It actually feels better after I brush. It seems to be getting a little better, but its been going on for almost 3 days now. However, its still uncomfortable and I can feel my tongue being swollen. Should I wait it out and then go to the doctor for diflucan? Any thoughts on what it is?

I have this gross white coated tongue a lot during my whole life... and this last year i have found 8 white bumps that start at the back of my tongue, down my throat and it tickles a little bit.. and feels like theres a long hair in the back of my throat... Is this white patch on my babies tongue thrush or formula...? I am a new mom and nobody told me to clean my babies tongue everyday...I breastfeed but sometimes my childs father would give him formula...he has a white patch towards the back of his tongue.....i tried a cloth to wipe it out but it is still there.....he feeds fine no problem i see as of yet....my nipples look normal.....i do feel a wierd sensation though but i think its because he only sucks my nipple and does not take in more of the breast....but no pain while feeding him....I dont know if I should be concerned , advice from anyone would be wonderful....
My 6 week old baby has Oral thrush. Her tongue is now completely white with little specs of green and blue? I am taking her into the Dr's tomorrow but I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or seen this before?She has had it since she was 2 weeks and the Dr. put her on an antibiotic Nystatin and it seemed like she was getting better but now It looks terrible. She has also been very moody crying for no reason and her poop has been a very dark green color and she screams bloody murder when she has to poop. I am worried that the thrush has moved into her intestines. If anyone knows anything about this or what it could be I would really appreciate it.
Is it possible to have oral thrush without the white covering - have the stinging tip of tongue, roof of mouth and lips but doctor wont listen and sends me away saying doesn't know what it is. white tongue but not thrush? my son has a white tongue and is formula fed. i asked the doctor she said its not thrush because its not on his cheeks, gums, or lips. he doesnt have a hard time feeding, is healthy and happy. but it builds up very thick at the end of the day almost turning yellow the next morning so i have to clean n scrape it off and it leaves the tongue alittle bit red and the white is still there jus not as thick.. is there anything i can do

Did you ever take Nystatin and if so please tell me your results. Nystatin is the drug that is not as harsh on your liver as other antifungals.
thrush or milk tongue? my 3 week old daughter has a white residue on her tongue and it seems to be kind of painful when she feeds (i bottle feed her) but i cant tell if its thrush or just milk left on her tongue. is there a way i can figure it out. i talked to the dr and she said that milk would not stay there it would wash away eventually. i have a dr appointment for her today just to be on the safe side but i would like some opionions please and thank you.

thrush on baby tongue? I have a 5 week old baby girl and she have thrush on her tongue only. The doctor gave me some medicine called nystatin to give her four times a day. So I went on line and pulled it up and it said that you and baby can pass it back and forth to each other if your breastfeeding and that i am. It also said if your having burning and pain in you breast you might have the thrush in your breast duds and i think i have it. My doctor didn't tell me that it could spread to my breast.If anyone out there experience this problem let me know what happened and what you did to solve the problem.

White and sore tongue that is not thrush? Hello! I was wondering....I am 13 years old, and my tongue is very white--it has like small white bumps on it--almost like raised white taste buds that are extremely, extremely sore and painful. It's been getting worse by the hour, and now my gums are hurting too. My parents originally thought it was thrush, but I looked at pictures of what thrush looks like on the tongue, and my tongue does not look like them. We assume (my parents and I) that this is a yeast infection of some sort as I have eaten a lot of carbs/sugar in the last few days, and my immune system has been weak, and I've been stressed out...the list goes on. Anyways, I hope I have not bored or confused you, but what do you guys think this is? Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks so much! K
I keep waking up with a thick white layer on my tongue.I was told it was not thrush by my dentist.What is it? Recently, I've been waking up with a thick layer of white gunk on my tongue. I have not changed any of my oral hygiene. I stick to it faithfully. My dentist says it is not oral thrust because it is not in patches and doesn't bleed when scraped off. I've been using a tongue scraper, but it continues every morning. It seems to get better after I eat or drink. I've tried mouth washes, peroxide, etc. and can't get it to stop forming. The part that puzzles me is that it just recently started. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.
How long for yellow tongue to cure? I have yellow tongue, quite a bit of yellow thrush on my tongue. I went to the doctor's on Friday, and she gave me a bottle of Nilstat/Nystatin. Hairy Tongue or Thrush? So I was told by both my doctor and my dentist that I have hairy black tongue from long term antibiotic use. Just recently though, the affected area has started to get irritated. Its not hurting, just uncomfortable. I feel like all the taste buds in that triangular area are a little swollen. The dentist (who I saw yesterday) says its nothing, but I feel like he didn't look that closely. Can you have thrush without the white spots? My tongue feels irritated and today I woke up with a sore throat. I know that thrush can be treated with medication, but hairy tongue can't. I just want to be rid of this if possible.

can lescol ( Fluvastatin) cause thrush or a white tongue? I have had thrush for a month and been taking nystatin for it. It started getting better. I have a week ago stopped taking my lescol for high cholesterol because i think it may be why i got the white tongue. Am still on my nystatin and started to take my lescol again a few days ago and my tongue is beginning to burn again. I have tried looking for side effects of lescol but have not found one that has to do with thrush... Anyone ever have that problem?
