Tongue Thrush
What can cause a newborn's tongue to?
have an orange-hued patch on her tongue? I have an 8 week old, and ever since she was 3 weeks, she's had an orange patch on her tongue. It goes away, if scraped off, but always comes back... We've tried Nystatin (as the doc thought she had thrush), and it did nothing. We tried other home remedies, such as Grapefruit Seed Extract, baking soda in water, and Gentian Violet, and, nothing is working! Has anyone had something similar, and, if so, what is it, and what cured it? The doc prescribed Fluconazole, but, since I don't think this is thrush, I don't want to give it to her. (She has no more white patchesl she had a few, before the Nystatin.) I will be posting this in more than one place... Thanks. That was so helpful! (Pfft!)

- Stop! trust your doc, they go through over 4 years of medical school and they know what they are doing. the most common stupid mistake parents make is stopping meds if they "dont think the dummy doctor is right" and "mommy knows best'
