My baby's tounge looks sore?
My 4 month old baby has got red patches on her tongue and has had them for about 3 weeks, we went to the doctor as they looked sore and the doctor said it was a non specific viral infection and would clear up in about 7 - 10 days but this has not happened, it's not thrush as she had thrush when she was a few weeks old with a white tongue and we treated it and it never came back. The sores look a bit like popped blisters, is it possible that these have developed from sucking on her toys? I would appreciate any feedback as I have tried to research this topic but am unable to find anything, thanks

- My 14 month old has blister like things on her tongue, now on her lip and under her nose. I live in Europe so I cant tell you the name the doc gave me for it because I dont speak the language. But he said it is a herpes like viral infection that takes about 1 week to clear up. Antibiotics will not work but it is very painful. My daughter will not eat and hardly drinks. its only been about 5 days and we took her back to the doc today. He said this is the peak of it and it will start to get better. I dont know what kind of virus or infection cn not be treated with an antibiotic but this is very frusterating for me! Im sorry your daughter has a similar problem and that its lasted so long. I would take her into the ER if the doc doesnt give her something. Thats what we are doing if its not gone by monday. Good lck!
