- you have oral thrush. I dont think you can get it from gargling with salt water unless the water is contaminated.
- thats an infection go to your doctor
- were you also taking antibiotics?? antibiotics will throw off the natural balance between bacteria and yeast in your digestive tract, causing the yeast to grow out of control, causing thrush. **try to stay away from sugar and gluten until your body can catch up. get on some probiotics(which will promote good bacterial growth in your gut), and a good wheat free multivitamin to boost your immunity.
- salt gargling made my tongue 'dirty' but after cleaning with a tongue cleaner it looks better, I have black tongue on the sides and red spots at the back of my f###ed up tongue. I still clean it daily since then, I haven't been to a medical expert yet. you should use special tablets to kill the tongue's yeast layer, and after using the bacteria tablets it should be cleaner.
- No, salt water actually kills the thrush yeast. I was on antibiotics and now have thrush as a result. I'm cutting down on sugary food, eating beans (good prebiotics) and eating probiotic yogurt too. I've noticed that my tongue is less white than before but I think it will take a while to get the bacteria/yeast balance correct again.
