- yeh my daughter had it. the doctor gave her daktarin drops. it cleared it up in a few days
- I would take her back to the doctor. Thrush is a yeast infection, and should be watched. My daughters cleared up after about 8 days.
- my daughter got the same thing and i took her to the doctor and she gave me something to give her. its a yellowish liquid that you put on her tongue. make sure it stays on there for 5 seconds before the baby swallows. also what she told me to do was to take all her bottles( the nipples) and get all new ones. don't use any of the old ones. once you go to the store and buy new ones boil some water and then kinda boil the new nipples in there for 5 minutes. let it cool and then you can use them. if you are breast feeding you will need to get some anti bacterial soap and wash around real well. just make sure the stuff the doc gave you is a yellowish color. that's what my doc gave me and it worked in a few days. and get rid of all old bottle(nipple) and pacifiers if the baby is using them. get all new ones. good luck i hope i helped.
- Well, the reason she could still have it is that you may also have an infection if you're breastfeeding, and you could be passing it back and forth. You'll need to take something, I think it's miconazole, an anti-fungal cream that you rub on the breast. If you're not breastfeeding, I have no idea... sorry.
- If she still has it, then, assumming you are breastfeeding, she probably keeps getting it from you. The two of you are just giving it back and forth to each other. you BOTH need to be treated. If baby is using a pacifier or bottles, the nipples need to be boiled every day and replaced every week. Same goes if you are pumping. The pump parts need to be boiled. Toys that go in your baby's mouth should be washed with hot, soapy water. In addition to the medical treatment, there are other steps you can take: -Wash all bras, bra pads, nightgowns, etc (anything that comes in contact with your nipples) in HOT water with bleach and dry on hot in the dryer or in the sun. -Rinsing your nipples with a vinegar and water solution (1 tablespoon vinegar to 1 cup water) after every feeding is helpful. Use a fresh cotton ball for each application and mix a new solution every day. -Some women add acidophilus supplements (40 million units per day) to their diet. Start adding yogurt to your diet every day. -Some women find that reducing yeast and sugar in their diet helps. Be careful with hand washing, especially after diaper changes. Babies can get yeasty diaper rashes very easily. If you use cloth diapers or nursing pads, the yeast can be passed through the laundry. Hope some of this helps. Again, if you are breastfeeding, you AND baby need to be treated. And it's very important that medical treatment continues for at least a week or two after the symptoms have disappeared.
- This happens often to The elderly, young kids also people that cant have anything by mouth..... The best thing to do is Brush the mouth(with a soft bristle brush) with water Every 2hours Also go to the Health Food Store and see if they have any lemon Sticks(or any similar to that)They are used as a brush for Young kids, elderly also those who can not have anything liquid by mouth Dont just brush toung Brush gums as well!!!
- What is the medacine? how is it supposed to be given? The one I used had to be applied to the entire mouth and the mouth had to be somewhat dry when applying. Just take a clean dry wash cloth and wrap it around your finger and swap her mouth and tongue then apply the med with a q tip swab and make sure you cover as much of the mouth and tongue as u can, You should see a change within a day or two. If you don't then call a nurse. Hope I could help.
- I've never had a bit of success with the stuff the doctor prescribes. At the natural food store there is a product called "Gentian Violet". It says right on the bottle 'not for consumption'. It was recommended to me when I had a similar situation - just couldn't get rid of the darn stuff. And it was a doctor that recommended it to me. Like "I can't tell you this, so you didn't hear it from me..." type of thing. Its horridly embarrassing - turns baby's mouth and your boob purple, but works so fast! Twice a day for 3 - 5 days and its gone. Just dress baby in clothes you don't care too much about and go for it. Good Luck!
- doctor perscribed us with nystatin.. its a liquid you give to baby. is this the med you have already? if not.. id try it.. helped a lot and quick. i took it also but in an oral pill form bc i was breastfeeding.
