Is it normal for a baby with thrush for his tongue to bleed?
My baby has thrush and has been on antibiotics for 2 days now,I was told to rub the meds on his tongue with a q-tip and drop the rest in his mouth. When I rub it on his tongue there is a few little spots of blood.I see my doctor again tomorro but I was just wondering if this was normal?Thank you.

- when my daughter had thrush her tongue bled as well. It didn't seem to bother her and the drops cleared it right up.
- Good ???, it dosen't sound normal to me but I could be wrong I hope someone has your answer. Good luck and I hope your little guy feels better soon!
- Yes. The tongue can become raw if you try and wipe the white stuff off.
- My son never bleed, when he had it. Good luck at the doc tomorrow! Hope he is better soon
- It's probably normal, due to him having thrush. It's a good thing he's going back to the doc tomorrow, because seeing any blood, anywhere on a baby isn't a good thing.
- My daughters had repeated thrush. It's normal for the tongue to bleed sometimes especially if you rub it. However, I'm kind of surprised the doctor told you to rub it on his/her tongue. My doctor always told me not to rub the tongue. Oh well, different doctor different ways I guess.
